Wood burning stoves and underfloor heating make for a cosy stay, whatever the season.

Sleeps up to 6 people.

Buarthau (pronounced Be-yarth eye) is a restored, traditional Welsh farmhouse (the part of the building white washed in the photo above. We live in the old renovated barns next door).

  • Kitchen and dining area with wood burning stove, oven, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine

  • 2 bathrooms: one with a small bath, one with a shower

  • Underfloor heating powered by renewable energy

  • Wifi (Fibre Broadband) , TV, DVD player and board games

  • Private, walled garden area with seating and BBQ

  • Storage for bikes

  • Access to EV car charger

  • River den with campfire area

  • And when you really need that additional help to relax, you have exclusive use of the outdoor wood fired hot tub

All bed linen and towels, as well as kitchen basics are provided.

Non-smoking accommodation. Sorry, no pets.

Please note: the cottage is an old, Grade II Listed building with uneven floors, low doorways and a steep internal staircase which may make it unsuitable for some people. The one bedroom on the ground floor has bunk beds. The doorway to the twin bedroom upstairs is low and opens on to the staircase. There is a stair gate available for this doorway that we can install if required. There is an old slate patio in front of the cottage that can become slippy in wet weather.

The road to get to the cottage is a narrow single track for 2.5 miles in both directions and should be taken slowly. While the road is very quiet, you may be required to reverse if you meet another vehicle and you’re closer to a passing place.
