There are several small art galleries in the area: Rob Piercy in Porthmadog. Or, farther afield in Llanbedrog near Pwllheli, the Plas Glyn y Weddw Arts Centre which also has an excellent cafe. Y Galeri in Caernarfon also has art space and ever-changing exhibitions.
Theatre Ardudwy in Harlech has a full programme of dance, drama, cinema and musical extravaganzas in both Welsh and English.
In Caernarfon, Y Galeri is a modern arts centre with studios, concert hall, gallery space, a licenced bar and cafe serving delicious food - a good venue for lunch or a pre-performance meal. It also houses the renowned William Mathias Music Centre under the musical directorship of world famous harpist Elinor Bennett.
In Llandudno you will find the newly refurbished Venue Cymru, which hosts world famous orchestras and theatrical productions.
There are also theatre companies who stage outdoor productions at heritage sites such as Shakespeare at Caernarfon, Harlech or Criccieth castles.
Wakestock Festival is a musical and wake boarding festival located over three venues.
Festival number 6 in Portmerion has a more eclectic line up. Venture to the festivals there for the day from Nook Snowdonia.
If you are visiting us in early July you will be able to take in the International Music Eisteddfod in Llangollen where you will see singers and dance troupes from all over the world competing.
Also in July is the Welsh language National Eisteddfod - music, poetry, drama - uniquely Welsh.
